DISCOVERY CENTRE

Discover, learn, explore, protect, wonder, appreciate.

The Yea Wetlands Discovery Centre is the gateway to one of the region’s most treasured natural spaces. It is a place to discover, learn and connect with the unique landscapes, wildlife and stories of the Yea Wetlands.

Combining a VTIC accredited Visitor Information Centre with interactive interpretive and educational displays, the architecturally designed centre offers insight into wetland ecology, local waterways, Taungurung culture and the rich natural environment of the region. Friendly local volunteers and staff are on hand to help with travel advice, maps, walking information, accommodation, dining recommendations and ideas for exploring Yea and surrounds.

Inside you’ll find visitor information, a gift shop featuring local products and souvenirs, free wi-fi, public toilets and meeting rooms. Outside, the beautiful Badji Baanang Indigenous garden, picnic facilities and walking trails invite you to slow down and explore.

Begin your visit at the Discovery Centre, then step out into 32 hectares of wetlands, boardwalks and bush trails. Birdlife, native flora and peaceful river landscapes await around every corner.

Open daily, the Discovery Centre is the perfect starting point for discovering the Yea Wetlands and the wider Murrindindi region.
